Day 6 report

We've gone from white rats now to little piglets. They are gaining nicely and GROWING! Doing laps faster, starting exercises and tails starting to wag, though involuntarily. They stretch and funny things happen! They are more vocal now too. If I wake them up to hold right after nursing they are snuggly and cute. They love to be held and kissed. BUT, if they've slept too long and you wake them up, they will YOWL for momma. They're starving!! No holding them then!

From day 2 to day 18 we do an exercise called stimulation. They are held in various positions to the count of five, I tickle their toes, and then lay them on a cold towel that has been in the freezer. This stressing was delveoped by the US Army and it proved to enhance intelligence and also the immune system. Sometimes they fuss and other times they could care less. Even laying down on the cold towel (not wet) doesn't even bother them. Other times they gallop away!

Time to go "torture" babies!

  1. How adoreable! The puppies that train with us who have had stim exercises are across the board significantly advanced in their ability to cope with the environment and learn as compared to those who weren't interacted with as babies - even if their owners aren't as advanced! :-) Can't wait to see how their little personalities start to develop...
