More 6 week pictures

The exhausted bodies on the Karunda bed are following our big outing way down the road. Some of these guys want to go meet horses which is not safe, but they sure have the desire and the size of the horses does not scare them.

Six week pictures

They are really growing by leaps and bounds. Doing great recalls on our walks and about to have the leash added. The weather has been so windy that they are not leash broke like I normally like. All very social as neighbors, friends, relatives, etc. are here constantly to play with them.

They have a play yard with ramps, benches, tunnels, Puppy Paladium (big tall box with lots of holes, and Puppy Condo which is a Spinach box that they like to sleep under. I've moved a crate to the pen too so they sleepl in that or on the Karunda bed. The kiddos should take to agility easily!

I do have grandkids!

Our grandson Evan (with his beloved mohawk) and granddaughter Ivy love playing with the pups but don't make it as often as we all wish.

One More (Sophie Jo or Miss Pyr)

Sophie Jo has a longer coat though it appears to be be lessening. Everyone picks her up first. Better known as Miss Pyr as she sort of looked like a Pyrenees when the longer hair first came in.

Individual pictures (Billy Ray, Daisy Mae, John Boy, Lorie Belle and Ruby Jane)

Tracy and Becky and a spoon of peanut butter helped get some individual pictures of the pups. Not all are good as we picked nap time to attempt to stack them. Some cooperated and some didn't!

Where has the time gone?

I have been innundated with puppies, weather, rescue, nearby fires almost requiring evacuation, etc. and just didn't get the newer pictures adde

d to this blog. Also have had some upload problems. I apologize!

The pups are doing great on housebreaking and if the wind, rain and snow let up I will get them lead broke. We are very thankful for what little moisture has come, to help put out the wildfires not too far away, but it does wreck havoc on the puppies. The kiddos do get to go visit our renter's house often and her friends come play with the pups in the pen as well. Neighbors with kids are here often too. These little guys are certainly social!

All pups have homes to go to now. Daisy Mae to TX, Lorie Belle to Omaha, Sophie Jo to MT, and Billy Ray, John Boy and Ruby Jane will be here in Colorado. Carley is just about ready to go visit her babes again. It is hard to give your heart and soul to your babes and then have to be removed so you are not attacked by those little six mouths with razor sharp teeth.

We are allowing the pups to chew on our fingers to help them learn how to be gentle. If they bite too hard we yipe, just like their littermates do when they are bitten. They're getting much better, thankfully! They are now helping me rake winter leaves and branches from the horrible winds we've been having. They love the outdoors when they can be out there. Isn't April supposed to be spring?

Video of pups

Thanks to Dawn who was visiting with her flip video, we have a one-minute video to share of the pups. The link is below. Not sure why the pups didn't finish their meal at the end but it was just their second meal in the family pan. Since then, not one morsel has been left. They are started on ground puppy food and meat and powdered milk, but they're moving over to chewing their own food!

Enjoy, and thanks Dawn!

A few more pictures

Busy week!

Have lots of pictures to share but about a week behind. Have had company, puppy visitors, and even a local wild fire to contend with. Thought we were going to have to evacuate but thankfully didn't have to. Whew!

Pups are really growing. Nearly weaned, much to Carley's pleasure. She wants to play with them but that's not what they want to do with her, so she'll spend a few days drying up and then she can play again.

Looks like little Sophie Jo (also known as Miss Pyr) is going to have a long coat. DNA says she won't but she sure looks like she will. Her spots are really growing but still not as distinct as the other pups due to the length of hair.

April 9 we will be getting stacked pictures of the whole crew when I get help from friends.

The pups are sleeping in a wire crate so they will crate train easily. They will be moving to the puppy palace (pen) outside shortly but don't worry because they have an indoor room with a dog door to the pen. It will give them much more room to play and be in the sun. They've been outside on a few short jaunts already but then the weather turned cold and windy, so haven't moved them outside just yet. They love romping around the island in the kitchen and sleeping on big dogs' beds. They are in a crate and x-pen in my office, which I love, but, but it is small and they really need more room than the house can provide.

Soon there will be pictures taken outside. The pups will also come play in the house still.

I have pictures coming from Dawn who was visiting this past weekend. When she has time she'll be sending them, along with the flip video. Will get their link posted soon as we can. It takes time to go thru all the pictures! Dawn helped me load the car and remove pictures, computer, puppy food, etc. early Sunday morning during the evacuation scare. 4:00 a.m. we get the call...fire over the hill! You might want to prepre to evacuate. Fortunately it was further away and is now dying down. Thanks, Dawn!
